Discover The Power Of Like

We love slogans. Here's one of our favorites. "When people like each other the rules change"
Call me stupid, lazy or old but...No more intellectual frontal assaults for me - they take too long and cost too much relationally.
At Off The Map Live we managed to get people who typically don't talk... (Blue/Red/Gay/Straight/Rich/Poor/Christian/Atheist/Evangelical/Mainline/Black/White/Oppressed/Oppressor) in the same room to explore what dialog looks like in a world gone different.

Everybody felt like an outsider at least once (which we consider a mark of success)
And many people learned to like someone they had formerly been suspect of.
And when people like each other the rules change

Over the next two days I spent at least half of my time hanging out at the freebie coffee bar set up in the lobby and the other half in auditoriums. Big room sessions with big name people are the bread and butter of any conference event, but schmoozing is the heart and soul. Read more...quote

We were fortunate to have several leaders and thinkers from minority groups join us.
They talked about what it feels like to be marginalized and some took us to task for being elitist.
